The real estate team offers a range of integrated commercial real estate services. Our team has performed as a consultant for (1) government agencies like Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission to help govern and manage large redevelopment projects the size of Annapolis, Maryland, (2) private developers of mixed use buildings containing hundreds of thousands of square feet of retail and residential space with multi-level below grade parking to accommodate urban density, (3) private landowners to spearhead development of multi-level medical office space with ground floor retail and below grade parking in a suburban setting, and (4) federal and state elected officials to oversee redevelopment of multi-billion dollar public-private projects.
Capital Markets & Finance/Technology Transfers.
Our leveraged finance team represents government agencies and financial institutions in a broad array of financings, including first and second lien loans, bridge loans, mezzanine financings, and mortgage back securities with varying risk, yield and duration. We also handle asset based financing transactions from the borrower’s perspective involving all types of commercial paper conduits and collateralized loans. Past performance includes our role as counsel to: (1) Maryland Energy Administration, as loan counsel to promote green technologies, (2) a collaborative effort among State and local officials and private foundations to capitalize a multimillion dollar community reinvestment fund, (3) philanthropic funds that look to strategically finance projects in economically distressed areas, and (4) Walter Reed Army Institute of Research and the Office of Research and Technology Applications at Fort Detrick to structure joint ventures and technology exchanges with private firms for the public benefit.
Government Contracting: As a firm, we dedicate our resources and core competencies to support federal agencies and state and local governments throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
